The Higher National Diploma (HND) is a two-year professional university program which focuses on learning by doing. It is designed to teach the knowledge and skills needed for employment and paving the way for a Bachelor’s Degree Program. The HND originated from the United Kingdom and has long been adopted by all Commonwealth nations. It was introduced in Cameroon in 2002 by Ministerial Order No. 02/0069/MINESUP/DDES.
The Bachelor’s Degree Program is a 9 months (Top-Up), (9-18) Months, 3-4 Years intensive professional university program which focuses on learning by doing. It is designed to teach the knowledge and skills needed to provide pathway for a Higher National Diploma programs, Associate Diploma programs and many career opportunities for graduates in their various specialties.
Students are expected to gain high level analytical, critical thinking, communication and research skills. Coupled with in-depth knowledge of their various specialties at local and international, Students will be ready to contribute to sectors which are rapidly changing and adapting to new and emerging conditions as well as technological advances.
A master’s degree is an academic qualification granted at the postgraduate level to individuals who have successfully undergone study demonstrating a high level of expertise in a specific field of study or area of professional practice. Students who graduate with a master’s degree should possess advanced knowledge of a specialized body of theoretical and applied topics, a high level of skills and techniques associated with their chosen subject area, and a range of transferable and professional skills gained through independent and highly focused learning and research.
